Shepherd’s Purse Tincture

Shepherd’s purse is grown in our own backyards. Herb Pocket workers grow plants without herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, etc.  That’s better than “certified organic.”  When we harvest herbs it’s at the right time of day and at the right time of year for the best medicine. As we harvest we notice and discard rusted leaves, grass pieces, bugs, and yellowed leaves. We harvest (usually within a few minutes) and immediately take the plants inside where, if needed, they are washed and dried as quickly as possible. We do not use a steam application to kill bugs on freshly harvested plants. Our herbs dry in a dark room until they are placed in a paper sack for storage, also in a dark room. If a tincture is being made from the dried plant, we aim to make it within 6 weeks of harvest. If a tincture is made from the fresh plant, it is made within 48 hours of harvest. All plants and plant medicine are kept in the dark as much as possible during and after processing as well as during storage.. We pick every flower and leaf. We give thanks to the plants. We pour our heart and soul into providing a top quality product because we expect the plants to be very good at supporting normal body function to help our families.

Something exceptional about Herb Pocket is that we try to be as transparent as possible as to what exactly you are purchasing.

As a new company in 2022 we are still learning and so we’d appreciate your patience and feedback. Contact us at herbpocket2@gmail.com

Shepherd’s purse is quite remarkable. It works to stop bleeding internally and externally by its ability to enhance coagulation/clotting action. We have a friend whose family has used shepherd’s purse for generations. The women of the family have a rare condition where they lose too much blood during menstruation. Every family has tinctures of this herb in their home at any given time so family members, living there or visiting, will have access to this life-saving plant.

Cautions: Because of its oxytocic effect on the uterus, shepherd’s purse should be avoided during pregnancy, except in the last weeks or during active labor, and then only under the supervision of an experienced midwife or medical professional.
